Dr. Ralf Averhaus has been with Leinemann Partner Rechtsanwälte in Berlin since autumn 2001. Before that, he studied law in Bochum and Dundee, Scotland, earned his doctorate in public economic law in Bochum, and completed his legal traineeship in Saxony-Anhalt.
Since early 2008, Dr. Ralf Averhaus has been a certified specialist lawyer for construction and architectural law. His professional focus lies on drafting contracts (construction and planning agreements), providing construction-related legal advice, and handling construction litigation. Beyond his legal practice, he is a co-author of a commentary on the HOAI (currently in its 5th edition) and has written a book on fee claims by architects and engineers. Dr. Ralf Averhaus publishes in professional journals and frequently serves as a speaker, for example, in the training of experts on architects' fees in Baden-Württemberg. He is part of the management team of the Berlin Fire Protection Forum, which held its 13th edition in autumn 2024. In 2024, Dr. Ralf Averhaus contributed to the expert report commissioned by the BMWK on revising the fee calculation in the HOAI.
Since 2020, Handelsblatt has regularly named him as one of Germany's most recommended lawyers in the fields of "Construction Law" and "Real Estate Law." He was also recognized as a recommended lawyer by Legal500 in 2022.
Dr. Ralf Averhaus is a member of the Berlin Bar Association.
